What I read today...

So the word out there is that Greece is in financial trouble...putting it in an individualistic perspective, this person had lost its money ; the value of its assets had dropped so much that he was practically left with nothing...in the wake of this event, he was given a loan by an international bank...

Now the payback period is drawing to an end and the values of his assets have not risen enough or the funds borrowed have not generated enough return to pay back the principal. In the wake of this event, his friends are considering different options to help him out.
- should we offer him more money? --> but if he can't repay the money now, does it make sense to increase the size of the bill?
- should we give him more time? --> is there where the time value of money comes in; money today is worth more than tomorrow?

The ECB is against rolling over the debt for Greece. EU countries are faced with a harsh reality that cannot be ignored. They are all inter-connected stated and thus Greece had to be helped, but HOW? - Privatization. It seems there are parties opposed to this idea. I wonder why that would be. - if the shares of public companies were sold to private companies( that have the incentive, motivation and resources to make profits), this would help the Government pay back some of its loans. But will privatization increase the bill for the tax payers?
The country is in need and the people of the country need to pull their socks up and get it together because if the government collapsed because of a failed banking system , the country they call home would be in ruins.

An idea was proposed to have technocrats ( experts of respective fields) run the country. But this was dropped. Why? Maybe because it means politicians wouldn't have a job anymore?

Long term Goals.

So for someone for whom planning the next day can be an arduous task, writing down his or her life ambition can be quite intimidating. I think it might be the commitment factor that makes it such a big deal. But since commitment is supposed to be a KSF in the success game, this is I giving it a shot.

I want to work in an investment management firm. I want to be in Finance because there is a lot of scope in this field and big opportunity to make money. This is also the field I have been invested in since 2001. Investment management is a large and important global industry in its own right responsible for caretaking of trillions of yuan, dollars, euro, pounds and yen. I want to learn how to manage assets with an objective to earn a profit, in addition to safeguarding capital of investors. The field of investment management can be quite vast given the wide range of financial assets that are available to us nowadays. I think starting in an investment management firm will provide me the exposure I need to make an informed decision about where exactly I would like to place myself. Right now, I just want to watch and learn.

I want CFA to be added to my name. I want to work in New York – experience life as an independent, powerful working figure in the big apple. I want to work in Mumbai – the country of my origin. I have never lived in India or seen much of it. I would like to stay there for about a year; be able to travel, work and go to the beach after a day's work or for the weekend. I want to work in Japan. I have heard their culture is one of a kind –life is work oriented. I would like to test drive that region for 6 months.

Fly birdie.... fly

Limitless…..
The name of a movie I recently saw
The feeling I identify it stimulated
Thrill of the sensation running through me right now
Ideas running through my head as fresh as clear spring water
From the heights, at the speed of a significant waterfall

The world has gotten such….wow! it’s a wonder how many thoughts I start that way… anywho, we can leave the project of counting that to another time, given my uninterrupted state of limbo

So the current state of this world is that it is normal to be pessimistic (is it because we are now aware of the common pitfalls?) … in this world it is normal to not be able to speak your mind ( is it because the sense of society ahs paralyzed our most natural instinct?)… bloody hell, in this world it is normal for a man to have lost his mind (isn’t having a mind our distinguishing factor from the rest of out fellow living beings?) anyway, the point I am trying to make here (after all that drama… ☺ ) is that I am unable to speak my mind when and where I feel. I am not sure I can define the chains that hold back this instinct but it resembles fear. I find I am often afraid of speaking what is truly on my mind in the fear I might lose it… jinx it.
Something is waiting for you right around the corner. It will be there waiting once you have gotten to the corner, as long as you stay on track and hang in there. Believe. You will get what is coming for you. History repeats itself. The universe speaks for itself. Believe.

So the master of communication ( I am referring to myself here)… is what I am… I am able to understand more than one person’s point of view at a time … that makes me pretty open minded (good one!) and therefore a master communicator, understanding that it is the delivery that renders communication effective. But often I am misinterpreted. How can this be? perhaps I am so wrapped up in my perception of my own delivery, I place the contents is a deliberate manner for my understanding? Speak your mind… if you are giving you a 100 % and you get you…instead of sitting here and contemplating these as one of your issues….. a point to ponder over? Nope…no more pondering…too time consuming…

Reflection should be a 20 minute exercise everyday, not a lifestyle. Active construction should be a lifestyle.

Good-bye.

I believe in God. I believe in the power of the universe. I believe that everything that happens is for a reason and good reason too.

The weak human in me likes to be sad and sorry for herself. But deep down inside she knows that everything is falling into place. Everything is coming together to form a heaven that she is meant to step into, only if she believes and hangs in there. Happiness and everything you have dreamed of is right around the corner, waiting for you to bump into it. So don’t change your course of action , keep going.

The 2 men that have just stepped out of the prospective romance path of your life weren’t meant to be there. They were strangers you met who played a very important part in your life during their time. But now their time is up. Their time was up a while ago, but you couldn’t let go. So now they have left… … as per the plan, because you deserve something else – something else that is right around the corner.

Cat race to work..

7 Interview questions you should know!
Question 1: Were you affected by the heat wave/cold snap?
Question 2: Talk about a time when you had to overcome major obstacles.
Question 3: What interests you about this position?
Question 4: Is there intelligent life in outer space?
Question 5: Imagine we've just hired you. What's the most important thing on your to-do list on the first day of work?
Question 6: Why did you get into this line of work?
Question 7: But enough about you. What about us?

Given the increasing population of the world and the slowing economy, the race for getting a job is cutthroat. Having more than a hundred people vying for the same position, with similar qualifications shows how competitive the workforce has become. So employers are seeking efficient and effective methods to extract the cream of the crop from the mass population. The questions above are an example of standardized recruitment that is designed to elicit not-so-standardized responses from the common mass.

The ticket to securing the position is to be able to blow the recruiter away with your responses to these questions. Once you have been short-listed it’s a matter of evaluating whether you are a good fit in their organization. Standing out from the rest with customized responses is a good idea. Everybody who goes to an interview, however, prepares for the same list of questions. All candidates have ready-made answers to every possible question that could be asked. So the question is, how do you make sure that you stand out? Given the same criteria, the same stage, the same props… how do you shine above the rest?

Question 1 &4 are surprise questions that you can answer however your personality permits you. A sure way to catch the recruiter's attention. Your motivation, your work ethic, your language is what your school teaches you...and a a million of your classmates. So convincing them why you are the cream of the crop they are looking for is about giving these standardized norms a well designed twist of your own. A personalized response system for every question that could be thrown your way. Sarcasm is NOT a good idea, and neither is pure honesty. A humorous, bright fresh approach?
Think about it....
